1. how should I prepare for my appointment?
make sure the night before you DO NOT drink alcohol, drink plenty of water and have a good meal. same applies for the morning of. make sure to eat a decent breakfast and drink plenty of water before arriving. cleanliness is also much much appreciated.
please DO NOT shave the area we will be working on the night or morning prior. while i do appreciate the gesture, but ill take care of all of that in house the day of your appointment.
2. Is it going to hurt?
The pain while getting tattooed is mostly relative to the individual. Getting tattooed does hurt, but as not as much as you think, I promise. I like to compare the pain to a really annoying cat scratching you. but keep in mind the pain you go through during the process ends In a beautiful piece of art that you'll carry with you for the rest of your life! that to me is well worth the little bit of discomfort we have to feel during the process.
3. Aftercare instructions
before you leave the area, you've had tattooed will be wrapped. you'll take that wrap off in about an hour and a half and you WILL NEVER wrap it again under any circumstances.
as soon as the wrap comes off you will wash the area with an antibacterial unscented soap. Both dove and dial both make good ones, and you can get that from any CVS, Walmart, Walgreen's etc... after you wash your tattoo you will apply a very very thin layer of either A&D or Aquaphor. You'll repeat washing and applying the ointment 2-3 times a day for the first 4-5 days. After that your tattoo may start to scab, peel or itch. all these things are perfectly normal you're not dying everything is okay. If the itching bothers you DO NOT scratch or pick at it. you can either give it a good wash or literally just smack it. once any of those things begin switch to an unscented dry skin lotion for the next 6-7 days. no swimming, hot tubs, baths, pools oceans etc.. no submerging the tattoo in water for at least two weeks. you can shower regularly on a normal schedule. if you have any questions at all DO NOT ask your friends or look to the internet, please just message me and I'll be more then happy to help you!
